A smile and a frown.

Earlier today I recieved a lovely baggie from Judyth - who wanted to make sure I could take part in the needlecase swap. Its full of loads and loads of wonderful fabrics, trims and threads, yarns and buttons and I'm yo-yoing between almost inspired (can't quite decide what theme for the needlebook for the swap, though am leaning towards floral, with insects...I really want to try a Spider bead embellishment.) and feeling a bit overwhelmed. My confidence is playing up again today.

Had one of 'those' moments earlier. Was discussing with a friend that I've taken up CQ and her response was 'I thought you were a feminist.....' ARRGGH How many times do I have to go through this? Yes, I encourage a fight for EQUAL rights for ALL genders and that women have been severally unrepresented in many ways in the past- This however doesn't mean I can't have hobbies that are considered feminine.

I agree...that's like Elizabeth Vargas from the news getting flack because she CHOSE to step down and take time to be with her newborn and come back on a lighter schedule on 20/20 rather than leaving her baby all the time. I thought true feminism was making your own choices.
BTW...I got on to see your needlecase and it's LOVELY!
