ATC HELP!

How do you finish the edges of your textile? ATC's?I've been working on some for the EG meeting on Saturday and I just can't work out how to finish off the edges!

I will photograph them but its for a secret swap so can't show them till I've swapped!

Other thing thats stumped me was coming up with suitable ideas for that scale!Abstract definetly works better in this situation.

So, my question to you is:
How do you get your inspiration for you textile ATCs, and how do you make them? I can't see how to layer fabric ones to make them stiff or edge them or anything! HELP!

Ok, I edge mine with satin stitch on the machine, but I have done button hole stitch and other patterned stitches. You can stiffen them by using pelmet vilene in the middle layer or i like to use cotton backed interlining. I use the interlining in the centre and then do a zig zag stitch through card stock to stiffen more. This makes it easier to write on. I like the interlining as it gives a more quilted effect which i like. Hope this helps.

I saw this method a little while back and plan on (mostly) using it from now on.

It's awful not being able to post photos when something's secret, isn't it? Looking forward to seeing it later.

Can't comment on your question though as I dunno what an ATC is!! Btw, which EG do you go to? Are you local to me??
