More musing on drawing...

Whilst looking at this webpage, I had a small epiphany ; that my drawing time doesn't necassarily take away from my stitching time - an issue I had in the past, and it in fact, supports and helps me develop it.

So, I am revising my 15 mins a day of stitching to 15 mins a day of drawing/journaling and 15 of stitching.

I've just about finished the first block of my quilt:

There may be some beading added around the button trail. I haven't decided yet. This is a close up of the button trail.
This is the block I'll be working on next!
This second photo shows the other colours better but they are either not well lit enough or washed out by the flash!

I have my embroiderer's guild meeting tomorrow! Shall tell you about it when I get back!

Your block looks great E.
Can I suggest that you add a button, or something similar, and with weight, in the dark patch under the gfirst 'cross over' in the running stitch .It will counteract the weight of your button trail and the face on the other side.

I love your block colors. How many blocks are in this whole piece?

Thanks Jo, that was just the sort of idea I needed! I knew it needed something but I couldn't decide what!

Susan, I don't know yet!Its my first actual crazy quilt project so am learning as I go!The only quilt I've made before was a rather simple squares quilt I made when i was about 12 or 13.

The bead trial is wonderful. I also like what you've done with the clay beaded face. It gives me an idea!
